I specialize in trauma-informed assessment and treatment to help clients deal with trauma and loss while integrating approved approaches to help make mind/body connections. I use a multicultural, solution-focused approach to healing while collaborating with the children, adolescents or adults that I work with.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a National Board Certified Counselor, and an EMDR Therapist trained through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Additionally, I am a Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner and a Registered Polysomnography Sleep Technologist.
My specialties include trauma in children and adolescents as well as adults, combat and non-combat related-PTSD, Veterans issues, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, and Adventure Based Therapy. I have contracted with the military since 2015 in the US and abroad.
I received my master’s degree at Prescott College in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have a private practice in Meridian, Idaho and do Equine Assisted Psychotherapy in Eagle, Idaho.
I have been a rock-climbing therapy adventure coordinator for Warriors Rock, a non-profit which provides adventure-based activities for Veterans and their family members for seven years.
Prior to becoming a counselor, I was in the medical field for 25 years as a Respiratory Therapist. I owned and operated a Diagnostic Sleep Center for 14 years. I utilize my background in sleep and respiratory medicine to help clients with the sleep problems that often accompany psychological distress.
I live in Eagle Idaho with my husband, our dog, cat, and 31-year-old horse Hank.
